Between our two beautiful campuses, there are over 2,700 potential friends and over 1,000 families to meet. It might take some time to remember everyone's names, but it won't take long to feel welcomed.
If you want your children to thrive, you've come to the right place.
Thank you for your interest in Shanghai American School.
At SAS Admissions, we are deeply committed to student success and can’t wait to meet students who would thrive here. And the enthusiasm is often returned: A high schooler who had blossomed through newfound friends, academic challenges, and the abundance of opportunities, stopped by simply to say, “Thank you for the chance to come to SAS.”
Our door is open - we’re here to help you to get to know us. Do note that although the admission season for the 22/23 school year remains open, seating is very limited across all grade levels on both campuses.
If you would like additional information on seat availability, please fill out this form and one of our Admissions Officers will get back to you soon.
– Alice Li-Arndt, Director of Admissions + Enrollment
When the Fellas arrived to Shanghai from Germany, their daughter Sophie was already good at blues guitar. By the time she left, she was also pretty amazing at rugby, dance, soccer, and acting.
When the Lin family came to Shanghai from New Jersey, their daughter Julia had a budding interest in basketball. Six years later, she’s a one of the most well-rounded high school student athletes on campus.
Get ready to hone your friend-making skills.
“Diary of a Wimpy Kid” author Jeff Kinney stopped by SAS to speak with our students – oh, and to take a selfie, of course.
Maybe you’ll overhear a student talking about the hydrogen-powered motor bike he’s building. Or see a group of students commandeer a 750-seat theater’s stage, just to practice a dance step they thought up. No matter what day you visit SAS, we think you’ll leave impressed.
Whether new to SAS or transitioning from 8th grade, all High School freshmen are welcomed by Link Leaders. The Link Leader program is comprised of High School students well-versed in making people feel comfortable.
It’s not just students who receive a warm welcome at SAS. When visiting authors arrive, they’re greeted by Author Ambassadors (also known as Middle School students) who prepare welcome packs, lead campus tours, and introduce the authors to fellow students.
Every day, something inspiring happens at SAS. What will it be when you visit?
Whether your family currently lives in Shanghai or will be relocating to this exciting city, we understand the importance of finding the right educational fit for your child. Our Admissions officers are committed to assisting you however we can and assuring the experience is as smooth as possible.
